The active ingredient of Exputex cough bottle is Carbocisteine. Exputex is used for a chesty cough or as an expectorant.
What is the Exputex Dose?
Exputex is suitable for children 2 years and older.
- 2-5 years: The usual dose is half a 5ml spoonful (135mg) two to three times daily.
- 6-12 years: The usual dose is one 5ml spoonful (250mg) two to three times daily
- Adults: The usual dose is three 5ml spoonfuls three times daily initially, reducing to two 5ml spoonfuls three times dauly when a satisfactory response has been obtained.
Does Exputex make you sleepy?
Exputex is non-drowsy and therefore is suitable to take at anytime during the day without affecting your ability to drive or carry on with your daily routine.
Is Carbocistine good for a dry cough?
Unfortunately Carbocistine, the active ingredient of exputex is only suitable for chesty coughs as it helps to aids the removal of phlegm from the chest.
