Description

Do Cystopurin Sachets really work?

These potassium citrate cystitis sachets work to reduce the acidity of your urine and thus reduce the burning sensation when urinating. It’s important to note that these won’t actually kill the bacteria in your bladder or fight the infection.

What triggers cystitis?

Urinary Tract Infrection’s (UTI’s) typically occur when bacteria outside the body enter the urinary tract through the urethra and begin to multiply. Most cases of cystitis are caused by a type of Escherichia coli (E. coli) bacteria. Bacterial bladder infections may occur in women as a result of sexual intercourse. Other triggers for cystitis would include drinks with a high sugar content and also clothes that are very tight wearing around this area of the body – i.e tights, leggings etc.

What is the difference between cystitis and a Urinary Tract Infections?

Cystitis is inflammation of the bladder, usually caused by a bladder infection. It’s a common type of urinary tract infection (UTI), particularly in women, and is usually more of a nuisance than a cause for serious concern.

How can someone differentiate from cystitis and a UTI?

Cystitis is usually more of an irritation and a frequency of urination which is oftentimes self-limiting. On the other-hand a Bacterial UTI can move up the urethra into the kidneys causing back pain, delirium and nausea amongst other things.
