What is Voltarol Emulgel used for?

Voltarol Emulgel is a medical treatment containing a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory medicine. The active ingredient (Diclofenac) penetrates the skin to provide relief of pain and inflammation. It works differently from heating or cooling rubs.

Who can use Voltarol Emulgel?

Voltarol Emulgel can be used to relieve pain and reduce swelling in a number of painful conditions affecting the joints and muscles, e.g. sprains, strains and bruises. It is also used to relieve the pain of muscular rheumatism. It can be used and applied to unbroken skin of adults and children over fourteen years of age. However, it is advisable to be used by certain individuals including Asthmatics, someone in the final 3 months of pregnancy, those allergic to aspirin or NSAID’s or those who have a history of peptic ulcers, gastrointestinal bleeding, liver or kidney problems, certain blood disorders, or intestinal inflammation.

Voltarol and How to Use?

An amount ranging in size from 1 penny to a 2 pence piece will usually be sufficient. Apply 3 to 4 times a day unless your doctor, general practitioner or pharmacist tells you otherwise, and allow at least 4 hours between applications of the gel. Do not apply more than 4 times in any 24-hour period. Do not use the gel for longer than 14 days unless longer treatment has been recommended by a doctor.
