Positive Stories To Brigthen Your Day
During times of uncertainty and fear we can really see how sting the human spirit can be in bringing everyone together. It is easy to get caught up in all the bad news stories, but we have to remember that for all the negative stories we read, there are just as many positive stories to pick our spirits up. On Thursday (May 14 th ) the public health services in England announced that it has approved the first antibody test which will be able to detect if a person has had Covid-19 and now may have some level of immunity built up. These testing kits can be a useful tool for tracking the spread of covid-19 and helping us in this battle we are currently fighting to save lives all over the world.
A good thing that is uniting communities worldwide is the respect and gratitude we all have for our front-line worker. A lot of food-based initiatives have taken place like Hospitality for Heroes and Feed the Heroes here in Ireland. A group of individuals in England have started a group called “Furloughed Foodies” and have raised over £10,000 making homemade meals and delivering them to over 15 hospitals across London. Stories like this can be found in all countries affected by Covid-19.
One of the most stand out stories from recent days which really illuminates how we have all come together to help people more effected then ourselves comes from here in Ireland. Linked below is an amazing story that really displays individual’s generosity and how we as humans are always connected through shared experiences of kindness. https://www.irishtimes.com/news/ireland/irish-news/beyond-amazing-navajo-nation-s-ag-praises-irish-generosity-to-coronavirus-fund-1.4251381
From reading this heart-warming story we see how generous people can be during times of a pandemic and how good deeds are always remembered.
If you now find yourself suddenly having a lot of spare time on your hands and binging on Netflix shows, I think we can all agree that one of the most memorable documentaries so far has been the tiger king. With that been said, here is a very funny blog containing numerous funny memes relating to the tiger king to brighten up your day and hopefully bring a smile to your face. https://www.digitalmomblog.com/tiger-king-memes/
From today, Monday the 18 th of May, the Irish governments roadmap for reopening our country comes into effect. This phased plan being put into action will hopefully bring a positive mood shift for many of us who have been cooped up these last few weeks. There are many reasons to be optimistic here in Ireland as we see death rates dropping resulting from everyone doing their part and keeping social distance. If we continue sticking to the governments guidelines and doing the best we can to look after one another and ourselves the good news should hopefully keep rolling in and we will finally be able to the see the light at the end of the tunnel.
